We hope you join our school and grow with us!
I wish every kid could attend Spirit Mountain.
Our daughter has enjoyed an alternative education for most of her life, so, she’s no stranger to learning in a holistic environment. But, since joining Spirit Mountain Village School this fall, she’s blossomed so much more! I attribute much of this to her teacher, Miss Sarich and the classroom environments she and Mrs. Opute have lovingly crafted.Sarah Pevehouse
Applying for Enrollment at Spirit Mountain School
Our school accepts grades applications on a rolling basis, year-round with applications for immediate placement subject to availability. Spirit Mountain School is currently enrolling for the 2019-2020 school year.
Early enrollment for new students ends on March 15, 2019. A signed Enrollment Contract and $375 Registration Fee are required by that due date to hold a space for the 2019-2020 school year.
If accepted for early enrollment, your Registration Fee is applied toward the annual $750 supply fee, with the remainder due on July 25, 2019. If enrollment or re-enrollment occurs after that date, a $375 registration fee and $750 supply fee must accompany your signed Enrollment Contract to hold your child’s space.
Before contacting us directly, please read through our website thoroughly.
Here are some helpful links as you research our school and the philosophies that guide us:
Please note, First Graders must be six years old by June 1st, 2018 to enroll for First Grade.
If your child does not meet the age criteria for first grade, fret not! Our sister school (located next door to us), Rock Rose Village School, has wonderful Early Childhood Programs for pre-school and kindergarten-aged children and a few of our parents have children in Rock Rose and they enjoy it very much!
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us or call the school during regular business hours (M-F, 9AM-3PM) for more information at (760) 542-8633.
Attend an Open House or School Tour
We are hosting a Public Open House on:
Late Winter and Early Spring
Our Open House is the best opportunity to see the school facilities, meet the faculty and families, experience what goes on in the classroom, hear plans for the upcoming year, and have your questions answered in person. School Tours are also very helpful in making your decision to join our family!
We strongly encourage prospective parents to attend our open house, as it gives you the most well-rounded view into our school community.
An RSVP is required for these adult-only events. Informal after-school tours may also be scheduled by appointment by calling us at (760) 542-8633 if you are unable to attend our Open House event.
Fill Out and Submit Application Form with Fee
After your initial research about our programs and visiting our school, we’ll provide you with a link to our Application Form. Please fill this out as soon as possible as we must schedule interviews and classroom visits (for students entering grades 2nd and up).
All applications must be completed and returned with a $100 application fee via mail to Spirit Mountain School, 2809 S Mission Road, Suite A, Fallbrook, CA 92028, or email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Let’s Get to Know Each Other Better!
Shortly after you submit your child’s application, you will be contacted to set up an interview with the class teacher to meet you and your child.
Ideally all parents (or guardians) can attend the interview. This interview is a chance for all parties to get to know one another, talk about your child’s development and your goals for their education, talk about the Spirit Mountain School program, and answer any questions that you may have. Your class teacher will have questions for you as well, as they want to get to know you and your child!
Children Entering Grades Two through Eight
If you apply in the winter or spring while school is still in session, your student will be invited to attend our program for a day at Spirit Mountain School! This visit will give you, your child, and the school the opportunity to get to know one another in a real school setting and confirm that enrollment is a good fit for all. We have found the day visit helps to calm elementary-aged children’s fears about joining a new school. It often helps your child to look forward to the upcoming year with anticipation, as they will have the memory of positive experiences from their visit day to anchor them as they go through this transition.
Why don’t we do a Visit Day with Incoming First Graders?
The transition from kindergarten to grade one is unique, as children are entering a formal learning environment for the first time. We want their experience of entering first grade to be as stress-free as possible, and joining an already formed class for a day, in our experience, has not been helpful. Your class teacher will provide some different experiences for your child to get to know their new classmates and teachers. We feel that parental school tours and open houses, combined with your application and interview, are sufficient for these prospective students.
Welcome to Spirit Mountain!
Upon successful completion of Steps 1-5, you will be contacted within a week’s time with the enrollment decision by Spirit Mountain School and we’ll set a date to go over the enrollment paperwork.
Once an Enrollment Contract is signed and your registration fee is paid (see above), your child is officially enrolled in Spirit Mountain School! Welcome to our school family!
